Buildly

Desktop software for work that belongs on a computer.

Some work needs an installed application: offline use, local files, connected hardware, or heavy data. We build desktop applications for Windows, macOS, and Linux and handle updates through your subscription.

Use cases

What desktop applications are good for

  • Utilities that process local files or documents
  • Point-of-sale or kiosk software
  • Tools that connect to printers, scanners, or other devices
  • Offline-first software for locations with poor connectivity

Example scopes

How projects might map to plans

These are hypothetical examples to show typical scope per plan, not past client projects. Your plan is confirmed after we review your brief.

  • ExampleEssential · $35/month

    Single-purpose desktop utility

    • One main function
    • Windows installer
    • Automatic update check
    Start with Essential
  • ExampleBusiness · $250/month

    Point-of-sale application

    • Windows and macOS
    • Receipt printer support
    • Sync with a web dashboard
    Start with Business

Integrations with third-party services are $20 each, one time. Third-party accounts, licences, and usage charges are paid by you directly to the provider.

Platform considerations

  • Windows, macOS, and Linux coverage is agreed in your scope.
  • Code-signing certificates and notarisation accounts are paid by you.
  • Hardware integrations are assessed individually before scope approval.

Maintenance after launch

  • Compatibility updates for new operating system versions
  • Bug fixes
  • Update distribution

Changes and new features are estimated and approved by you before they use your plan's allowance. Covered bug fixes do not reduce your feature allowance.
