FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about what is included, what costs extra, and how the subscription works.

The service

What is Custom Software as a Service?

It works like subscribing to any software online: you pick a plan and pay monthly or yearly, and we host, maintain, and update it. The difference is that the software is designed and built for your business, as you need it, rather than the same product everyone else gets.

What can you build?

Business websites, online stores, web applications, customer portals, internal tools, mobile apps for Android and iOS, and desktop apps for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Each subscription covers one agreed project on one platform unless a published bundle applies.

Which technologies do you use?

Whatever your project needs: custom code in Go, Node.js, Python, or PHP, or a platform such as WordPress, Drupal, WooCommerce, or Magento. These are examples, not a limit. We recommend the stack in your written scope, and you can ask for one you prefer.

Is development unlimited?

No. Each plan includes a defined initial build, then a set number of change requests after delivery: Essential 2 per year, Growth 1 per month, Business 2 per month, and Scale 3 per month, handled one at a time. Your scope lists exactly what is included, and any extra work is estimated and approved by you before it starts.

How long does the first version take?

It depends on the scope. Your written scope includes a schedule before you pay anything. We do not promise instant delivery.

Pricing and billing

How much does it cost?

Plans start at $35/month for small, clearly scoped software. Growth is $100/month, Business $250/month, and Scale $600/month. Which plan fits depends on the agreed scope, not only the platform.

When and how do I pay?

You pay online with PayPal in your customer portal, where you sign in with a link we email you. Once your scope is approved, we issue an initial invoice: the setup fee plus any approved one-time items, such as integrations. On Essential it also covers the 3 months paid upfront (or the full first year on yearly billing). The build starts once it is paid. Your subscription starts at launch: we go live only after the first month's payment (or the first year's, on yearly billing), and on Essential the months you paid upfront cover the start. After that, PayPal takes payment automatically on the same day each month (or year) as your first payment.

What is the difference between billing interval and commitment?

The billing interval is how often you pay: monthly or annually. The commitment is how long you stay subscribed before the code becomes yours, and it is set by your plan: Essential and Growth 12 months, Business 24 months, Scale 36 months. The contract itself is month to month, so you can stop at any time. On Essential, the first payment covers the setup fee and 3 months upfront.

What happens if I stop before the commitment ends?

You can stop at any time; on Essential, after the 3 months paid upfront. Your data is always yours: on request we export it in a convenient format that suits the data. The source code and database are handed over only once the commitment is complete. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.

Is there a setup fee?

Yes, a one-time fee paid with your initial invoice once your scope is approved, before the build starts: $100 for Essential and Growth, and from $200 for Business and Scale depending on the scope. On Essential, the first payment also covers 3 months upfront. The initial build itself has no extra charge on any plan.

How much do integrations cost?

Standard integrations, such as payments, email, or calendar services, are $20 each, one time. Migrations and complex enterprise integrations are quoted after an assessment.

Who pays for third-party services?

You do. Third-party accounts, API usage, messaging, licences, payment processing, and app-store fees are set up in your name and billed by those providers.

Hosting and ownership

Is hosting included?

Yes. Essential includes shared hosting, Growth a small VPS, and Business a medium VPS, all upgradeable. File storage is 5 GB on Essential, 25 GB on Growth, and 100 GB on Business, with extra storage at $5 a month per 50 GB. Scale hosting and storage are set in your agreement. If your software needs more capacity, storage, or a specific region, you can add a hosting upgrade without changing your software plan.

Do I get the source code?

Yes. The agreed source code, the database, build and deployment instructions, and supporting documentation are yours after your commitment is complete and required payments are made. After that you can keep running the application with us at the same rate or move it elsewhere; handover does not automatically cancel hosting or maintenance.

Do I own third-party software used in my project?

No. Third-party libraries, services, and licences remain owned by their providers under their own terms.

Getting started

What happens after I submit a brief?

We review your brief first. If it is a good fit, we email you a link to book a short discovery call. After the call we confirm which plan fits and send a written scope with deliverables, exclusions, price, and schedule. You approve the scope before any payment.

What if my project is bigger than the plan I picked?

We will tell you during review and suggest either a published plan that fits or a reduced first scope. We will not quietly change the price.

Can you maintain software I already have?

Often, yes. Maintenance for existing software starts at $20/month. We first assess the technology, access, and condition of the code, then publish what we can support before you commit.

Still have a question?

Send us a message, or submit a brief and ask it on your discovery call.
